Range of Motion Testing

Comprehensive joint mobility assessments used to pinpoint structural restrictions, build a highly customized treatment plan, and measure your progress over time.

Range of Motion Testing and Assessment

What is Range of Motion Testing?

Range of Motion (ROM) testing is a fundamental clinical assessment tool we use to evaluate the flexibility, alignment, and functional capacity of your joints and muscles. Instead of guessing where your tension lies, we physically measure it.

By guiding your limbs through specific active and passive movements, your therapist can identify hidden muscle imbalances, fascial restrictions, and areas of physical compensation that are contributing to your chronic pain. This allows us to treat the actual source of your discomfort, rather than just the symptoms.

How Testing Enhances Your Care

We utilize this assessment across all of our clinical therapies to ensure every minute of your session is optimized for your specific structural needs.

Pinpoints the Root Cause

Testing identifies exactly which muscle groups are physically restricted and which are overworking to compensate, taking the guesswork entirely out of your treatment plan.

Customizes Your Therapy

Your unique assessment results allow our therapists to tailor every massage technique to your exact structural deficits, ensuring targeted and highly efficient relief.

Tracks Your Progress

Regular mobility assessments give us clear, measurable data to prove your physical range is expanding over time, keeping your recovery and wellness goals on track.

What to Expect During Assessment

Active vs. Passive Testing

You may be asked to move a joint on your own (active range of motion) to test muscle strength, or relax entirely while the therapist gently moves the limb for you (passive range of motion) to test joint and fascial limits.

A Pain-Free Process

This is a safe diagnostic tool, not an endurance test. We only move your joints to the point of mild resistance or slight discomfort in order to accurately gauge your current physical limitations without causing harm.

Establishing a Baseline

We typically perform a brief assessment at the beginning of your very first appointment. This establishes a baseline measurement so we know exactly where your body is starting its recovery journey.

Ongoing Evaluation

We continuously monitor your mobility throughout your time as a client or member to ensure the clinical therapies we are applying are effectively restoring your body’s natural, pain-free movement.
